Authorities have arrested a Hopkinsville woman for allegedly stabbing her son at a Hopkinsville motel Sunday night. 46-year old Ginger Gilford taken into custody around 9:45 Monday morning and charged with 2nd Degree Domestic Violence Assault.
According to police, Madison Skinner reported that her mother, Gilford, stabbed her juvenile brother at the Manhatten Motel located at 307 South Main Street around 6:00 Sunday night during a verbal argument about money for food. The juvenile allegedly confronted his mother using money to buy drugs and at that time she reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the right arm. Police say Gilford then fled the scene before officers arrived, but was arrested the following morning.
Gilford was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
