Martha Sue Springer Todd, of Yorkville, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 54 years old and lived her whole life fully, serving God, family, and community. Funeral services for Martha will be held on May 30th at 2pm in the Rutherford Chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home, with Roger Utter officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery, 8 Nebo Yorkville Rd.
Martha was born in Winchester, TN, to Eugene and Doris Springer on November 5th, 1971, though she spent much of her life in Cadiz, KY, Rutherford, TN, and Yorkville, TN. Over the years, she has worked as a preschool teacher, farmer, Tupperware consultant for 31+ years, and, alongside her husband, agritourism business owner of the Todd Family Fun Farm (17 years). She was known for her work ethic, faithfulness, and service to others.
Martha was a member of the Rutherford Church of Christ and loved helping others in any way she could: teaching classes, serving as the photographer, cooking and baking, and giving of her money, time, and talents. She also loved card games, hymns, Kentucky Wildcats, Tupperware, M&Ms, coin collections, and Coca-Cola merch. She had a passion for serving and teaching kids, and she spent many decades as a cook and counselor at Reelfoot Youth Camp, as a Sunday School teacher, and as an involved parent with Lads to Leaders. She loved being James’s wife and the mother of Lydia and Caleb.
Martha is preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and Eugene Springer; niece, Kayla Springer; and father-in-law, Odis B. Todd Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, James; daughter, Lydia and her husband Calum Hill; son, Caleb; brother, Paul Springer and his wife Beverly; sister, Deborah Smith and her husband Danny; sister, Sarah Canaday and her husband Lynn; mother-in-law, Doris Todd; sister-in-law, Janet Todd; and many other dear nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.
