A Bowling Green man was charged with trafficking drugs after a traffic stop in Hopkinsville on East Parkview Drive on Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Alijajuan Williams for a turn signal violation, and a law enforcement K9 alerted on the vehicle.

Williams, as he exited the vehicle, grabbed a cup that was reportedly found to have over 4 grams of suspected cocaine inside, and officers found synthetic drugs in the vehicle.

Police say the passenger, 36-year-old Kristina Francis of Princeton, was cited to court for possession of synthetic drugs in connection with what was found in the vehicle.

Williams was arrested and charged with failure to or improper signal, tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking cocaine second offense.
