A heavier law enforcement presence from Kentucky State Police will be felt on U.S. 41, especially in the Pembroke area, for the next few months.

Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett told Your News Edge that it’s due to the increased traffic on the road, as travelers look to detour around construction on Interstate 24.

Dossett added that people traveling excessive speeds, in the city limits, are causing some headaches for the local traffic.

The extensive renovation of Interstate 24 is expected to last through at least August, where the westbound lanes are being replaced just north of the Kentucky Welcome Center to Exit 89 in Oak Grove. Additional road expansion projects are underway at the interstate bridge on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road for the impending Buc-ee’s.
