Hopkinsville Revenue Up for April

Hopkinsville officials are hopeful after April revenue showed an increase.

Monday night, Chief Financial Officer Melissa Clayton told the City Council that April payroll tax revenue came in better than anticipated.

click to download audioDuring the special-called meeting, City Council approved the first readings of an amendment to the 2025-26 Operational Budget and the 25-26 Capital Budget. The amendments reflect a small increase in revenue, a $450,000 increase in prior year revenue, and a $230,000 increase to the mandated agencies for the Boys and Girls Club project.

In other business, the Council approved the first readings of the $54.6 million 2026-27 Operational Budget and the $2.7 million 26-27 Capital Budget.
