Sheriff’s Office K9 Loki Receives Protective Body Armor

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office announced that K9 Loki has received a new bullet- and stab-resistant vest thanks to a donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc..

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies say the protective vest was sponsored by Plating Specialties, Bill Karpuk of Madison Heights, Michigan. The vest is embroidered with the message, “Gifted by Plating Specialties – Madison Heights, MI.”

The custom-fitted body armor is designed to help protect K9 Loki while serving alongside deputies in Christian County. The vest is made in the United States and is certified by the National Institute of Justice, meeting standards for bullet and stab protection.

Each vest has an estimated value of $1,800, weighs between four and five pounds, and includes a five-year warranty.
