Authorities have blocked off the area as they investigate a possible gas leak on East 7th Street in Hopkinsville on Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called for a possible gas leak, which resulted in the road being dug up by Atmos Energy.
East 7th Street in the area of South Campbell Street will be blocked for several hours as the leak is investigated. Residents in the area have been asked to shelter in place.
