Frank James Thomas, Jr., son of Ida Wilson Thomas and the late Frank Thomas, Sr., was born September 29, 1955, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Frank was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter and was known for always offering a warm welcome to members and visitors alike.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and also served in the Army National Guard for several years. Frank later worked as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 35 years of service.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Raymond Thomas, Frances Elnora Thomas, Paulette Thomas, Claudette Thomas, and William Douglas Thomas.
Frank departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ida Wilson Thomas; three children, Frank Warfield, Christopher (Julie) Thomas, and Frank James (Dava) Thomas, III; siblings, Bernice Lyle, Velma Jean (L.Z.) Pollard, Frances (Jerry) Brown, and Rodney Thomas; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 1106 East Second Street in Hopkinsville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
