Christian County Public Schools has completed a $220,000 track resurfacing project at its facility on Elm Street behind Gateway Academy, creating an upgraded space for both student-athletes and the community.

School officials say the investment provides a safer, high-quality practice surface for students while also offering a designated area for public fitness. The track is now open to the community Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., though school activities will take priority and may limit access at times.

Assistant Superintendent Jason Wilson says the project reflects the district’s commitment to supporting students while promoting community wellness. The facility will be monitored by video surveillance, and visitors are encouraged to help keep the area clean.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact Christian County Middle School Assistant Principal Trey Wheeler.
