A long-held vision for the future of police training in Western Kentucky is about to become a reality. Next week, state officials and local leaders will gather in Madisonville to break ground on a new regional training center designed to keep officers closer to home.

The Department of Criminal Justice Training will host a groundbreaking ceremony next Wednesday, April 29th, for the new Western Kentucky Law Enforcement Training Facility.

The project represents years of planning and partnership, including support from Governor Andy Beshear. Officials say the facility will strengthen regional opportunities for Western Kentucky officers by providing high-quality professional development without the need for long-distance travel.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. at 2244 Bean Cemetery Road in Madisonville.

The public is invited to attend the event in person or watch a livestream on the DOCJT Facebook page. Department leaders say the investment is part of a commitment to ensuring that professional law enforcement in the Commonwealth is built through vision and strategic investment.
