Bernetta Watkins, age 70, of Hopkinsville, passed away peacefully at Christian Health Center on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, surrounded by the friends and family she loved dearly.
Born May 8, 1955, in Princeton, Kentucky, she later moved to Hopkinsville, where she made her home and built a life centered around family, faith, and fellowship.
Bernetta had a deep love for cooking and found great joy in bringing her family together around the table. She also loved music, especially songs like “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” and had a fondness for old-school music. To those who knew and loved her, Bernetta will be remembered as a guiding light — a woman of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She is survived by her children, Jeffery Watkins (Danielle), Glynnetta Watkins, and Leandre Watkins; her grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Levi Glover, DeVarius Bussell, DeMarius Poindexter, DeTravius Dillard, and Kash Watkins; her sisters, Janice Hollowell, Peggy Hollowell, Mary Jane Vance, and Anita Gale Watkins; her brothers, James Watkins (Faith), Stassen Hollowell (Amanda), Victor Hollowell (Kathy), and Dique Hollowell; along with great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Adams and Sons Mortuary.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Adams and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
