A child was rushed to a Nashville hospital with a gunshot wound after an incident on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville on Monday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called at 8:25 pm for a very young child who had a gunshot wound to the head.
The child was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health to meet with a helicopter to take the child to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police say they are still investigating to determine if it was an accidental shooting or if foul play is involved.
