A wreck on Interstate 24 in Christian County blocked the eastbound lanes for several hours on Thursday afternoon.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by 57-year-old Tyrone Pheal of St. Louis, Missouri, failed to stop for traffic that was backed up in the construction area.

Pheal’s truck hit a second tractor-trailer, driven by Branislav Dusic of Willowbrook, Illinois, and then a truck pulling a trailer, driven by Damion Pridmore of Altoona, Alabama, at the Fort Campbell Boulevard overpass.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says that Hopkinsville EMS, along with an ambulance from Fort Campbell, were called to help with two people who were injured but only transported Pheal to the hospital.

Rogers says the injuries are non-life-threatening.

Hopkinsville’s Station 5 ambulance and fire engine along with Oak Grove Fire Department and Christian County Rescue all responded to assist with the crash.
