Irene Wade, 93, of Hopkinsville, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Dorothy Irene Wade was born April 8, 1932, in Christian County, KY, to the late William Garland Gilliland and Bessie Mae Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Wade.
She was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church in Crofton and retired from the Christian County Clerk’s Office. Irene enjoyed reading, working on Genealogy, spending time with her grandchildren, going on day trips, and eating out.
Irene is survived by her son, Jimmy, and Ladonna Wade of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Nathan and Sara Wade of Owensboro, Ethan and Maria Wade of Louisville, Brad and Whitney Wade of Grovetown, Ga, and Melissa and Mike Britt of Magnolia, AR; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at New Palestine Baptist Church on Dawson Springs Road in Crofton. The burial will be in the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Christian County. Friends may visit with Irene’s family from 12:00 P.M. (Noon) until service time on Saturday at the Church.
