A wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard in the area of Popshelf killed a Clarksville man on Saturday night.
Kentucky State Police say at 6:11 pm, a southbound tractor-trailer was making a U-turn, attempting to go northbound, when it collided with a northbound car driven by 33-year-old Bernice Franklin, trapping Franklin inside his vehicle and under the tractor-trailer.
Franklin was extricated from his vehicle and taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health with CPR in progress, but later died from his injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken into custody. A full list of his charges, along with his name, has not been released. Fort Campbell Boulevard is expected to be blocked in the area until 11:00 p.m.
