A traffic stop on US 68 led to several charges for a Cadiz woman in Trigg County on Saturday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Ashley Barton after she was seen failing to stop at a stop sign, not using a turn signal, and crossing the fog line several times.
Her registration was reportedly expired, she had a DUI-suspended license, and she had slurred speech and was very fidgety.
She was then arrested on an active warrant out of Calloway County. Deputies say after a search of her vehicle, marijuana, two pipes, and a gun were found.
After a field sobriety test, she was then also charged with disregarding a stop sign, driving on a DUI-suspended license, failure to or improper signal, no registration plates, DUI, possession of marijuana, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
