Mischelle Ambrose Cothran, age 65, of Cadiz, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born February 3, 1961, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jacob “Jake” Ambrose and her surviving mother, Eva Molnar Ambrose of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mischelle worked as a registered nurse for 34 years, primarily at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville and at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz. She also served as a laboratory nursing instructor at Hopkinsville Community College for a short time.
Mischelle was inquisitive and passionate about learning. She was an avid reader, enjoyed mystery movies, and was a kind soul to anyone that she came into contact with, offering a kind word and a smile.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tim Cothran of Cadiz; her mother, Eva Molnar Ambrose of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Sandra Ambrose Clark (Randall) of Cincinnati; niece, Victoria Clark; uncles and aunts, Frank and Irene Finley of Clearwater, Florida and Kenneth and Mae Lou Lancaster of Cadiz, Kentucky and childhood friend, Darcy Garland of Melbourne, Australia.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, February 20, 2026.
A graveside funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 11:30 AM at Hurricane Baptist Church Cemetery, 4153 Hurricane Road, in Cadiz, with Dr. Tom Martin officiating.
