Graveside Services for 88-year-old Joy Gilkey Wilson of Hopkinsville will be Tuesday, February 10, at 10:00 AM at New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville, KY.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Joy Gilkey Wilson, age 88, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, of natural causes.
Joy was born in Christian County, Kentucky on April 3, 1937 to the late James and Eleanora Clark Gilkey. She worked as an educator for Christian County Public Schools at Crofton, Lacy and Millbrooke elementary schools. Joy was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kerie Wilson; and her brother, Billy Gilkey.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Wilson; her daughter, Darie Lee and her husband Rusty of Glen Allen, VA; her brother, Allen Gilkey and his wife Vicky of Nortonville, KY; her sister, Maybeth Smith and her husband Mike of The Villages, FL; her grandchildren, Abby Lee, Zach Lee and Jonathan Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Pennyroyal Hospice or Gideon’s International.
