Trigg County’s race for District 4 magistrate heated up even more Tuesday afternoon, when Trey Lancaster officially entered into the May 2026 Republican primary.
Cerulean isn’t where he just lives, Lancaster wrote, but it’s “home.” He grew up and still resides there, where he’s now running a business and raising a family.
The proud son of Wilton “Pud” and Erika Lancaster, Trey said his parents taught him the value of “hard work, honesty and service.”
Years of being a paramedic, he said, taught him “compassion, calm decision-making under pressure and the importance of treating every person with dignity.”
He reached a point, however, where he wanted to be at home every night with his wife, Sarah, and their two daughters, Ryleigh and Reese, while still continuing to serve the community. And it’s this measure, he noted, that spurred him to run for magistrate.
District 4, he added, “deserves a magistrate who understands this community, listens carefully and uses sound judgment while upholding the duties of the office.”
Lancaster joins a field that already has native Ceruleanites in Greg Goodwin and John “Rayme” Hopson in the fold.
