Judy Hargrove Poindexter, 87, of Herndon, KY passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 26, 2025 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery in LaFayette, KY. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Herndon, KY she was born July 13, 1938 the daughter of the late Arthur C. Hargrove and Alma Boren Hargrove. Judy was retired from American General Life and Accident Insurance Company and Reliable Finance, Inc. She was a member of Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church and active in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband: Gayland Poindexter; her brother: Robert “Jet” Hargrove; her sisters: Barbara Jean Bradley and Linda Luther; and a niece: Holly Luther.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Don (Wanda) Bradley of Owensboro, KY, Sandra Humphries of Cerulean, KY, Steve (Nita Kay) Hargrove of Cadiz, KY, Debra (Sonny) Wise of Clarksville, TN, David Hargrove of Hopkinsville, KY, Bobby Hargrove of Fresno, CA, Robert Hargrove of Brandon, FL, Archie Evan (Julie) Luther of Aiken, SC, Dana (Wayne) Derrick of North Augusta, SC; her brother-in-law: Archie (Mary) Luther of Aiken, SC; and several great nieces and nephews.
