The National Association of Farm Broadcasting convention in Kansas City held a big surprise for Your Ag Edge’s Alan Watts.
Watts received the Workhorse Achievement Award, which honors him for his years of service to broadcasting. During the presentation at the NAFB awards luncheon on Friday, November 21, awards committee chairman Rusty Halverson recalled Watts’ history in broadcasting with mentors Colonel Dink Embry and Jack Crowner, and in later years Max Armstrong. He cited Watts’ passion for broadcasting and sharing the farmers stories at WKDZ and now across the state of Kentucky with Travelin the Bluegrass.
Watts thanked his daughter Jennie, wife Susan, Edge Media Group President Beth Mann, the Edge Media Group Team, and others for their support during his 32-year career.
Watts shared his reason for getting up and going to work every day.
