Congressman Comer Pleased With Trigg Hospital Grant

First District United States Congressman James Comer says he was pleased to help Trigg County Hospital obtain a three million dollar grant to pay for the construction of a new ambulance building.

Comer announced Thursday that Trigg County Hospital will receive a three million dollar grant to help pay for the ambulance building project that will replace the existing 800 square foot building known as the ambulance shack.

click to download audioComer announced on Thursday that the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, recently passed by Congress, includes the federal funding for the construction of a new emergency medical services and ambulance facility. The new building will be located on the southern edge of the hospital property adjacent to the medical arts building and near where the former Trigg County Primary Care trailer was located. Sumner is hoping ground will be broken for the new project next spring.
