A Cadiz man was charged with fleeing from law enforcement after a pursuit in Trigg County Saturday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Chad Bomia for speeding on Westend Street, and Bomia fled, reaching speeds near 100 mph, disregarding a stop sign and a traffic control device.

The pursuit reportedly came to an end on Cerulean Road when the deputy terminated the pursuit, then noticed debris in the road and found Bomia’s vehicle wrecked.

Deputies say Bomia hit a deer, disabling his vehicle. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI, rear license plate not illuminated, disregarding a traffic control device, first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and disregarding a stop sign.
