Man Charged With Fleeing Police During Warrant Arrest

A Hopkinsville man was charged with fleeing from police during a warrant arrest on Wayne Drive in Hopkinsville on Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they went to the home of 37-year-old Shawn Gilkey, who had warrants for first-degree criminal mischief, non-payment of court costs, and three counts of probation violation.

He was reportedly seen outside and fled from law enforcement on foot before being apprehended.

Police say he had several fake 10-dollar bills in his pocket along with a needle.

He is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree fleeing or evading police, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
