Burn Ban Activated In Trigg County

Trigg County is under a burn ban until further notice due to the continuing dry conditions that are impacting Trigg County and Western Kentucky.

Judge Executive Stan Humphries issued the burn ban Wednesday morning. The order points to the continuing dry conditions and lack of rainfall in the immediate future as reasons for the ban.

Humphries says all burning in Trigg County is banned until further notice. Those violating the burn ban are subject to criminal charges and fines.

According to the Kentucky Mesonet Trigg County last received appreciable rainfall was July 21st when .44 inches of rain was recorded. In August Trigg County received one tenth of an inch of rain, with no rainfall measured yet in the month of September.
