Heavy rains from a Saturday afternoon thunderstorm forced the cancellation of the second night of truck and tractor pulls at the Western Kentucky State Fair in Hopkinsville.
Fair officials made the announcement Saturday afternoon after the heavy resulted in flooding or the track and grandstand area at the fair grounds. Photos from Fairboard President Kent Boyd show water standing on the track and in the pit area behind the bleachers and the announcers stand.
The fair continued Saturday night with rides from Drew Amusement, UCW Wrestling inside the convention center, the beef cattle show in the livestock barn, and a variety of food vendors throughout the fairgrounds.
