UPDATE: The road is passable for local traffic and emergency personnel only.
State and county officials are working to repair the Burge Creek Bridge on Caledonia Road (Kentucky 272) that suffered severe wash-out damage from overnight rains.
The project is being expedited because several neighborhoods along 272 are trapped due to the high water. Glenwood Mill Bridge is closed due to high water, as is Caledonia Road just east of the Glenwood Mill Road due to flooding on Little River.
County officials have surveyed the problem to determine how to get emergency personnel to the neighborhoods that include Grigsby Lane and Cliffwood Drive.
State officials are expected to provide an update on the repairs later this afternoon.
