Nannie Mimms, 88, of Hopkinsville

Nannie Mary Mimms was born April 7, 1937, the daughter of the late Frank Howard and Mollie Mimms. She transitioned to the glory of God on March 28, 2025, at Jennie Stuart
Medical Center. At the time of her transition, she was 88 years, 11 months, and 28 days old.

A lifelong resident of Hopkinsville and Christian County, she was a member of Pleasant Green CME Church. Nannie Mae, as she was known by all who knew and loved her, was very active in the Second Episcopal District of Kentucky annual Conference.

She was a stewardess and served the Evansville-Hopkinsville District as President. She also served as the Annual Conference Stewardess President for eight years. Nannie Mae was a 1955 graduate of Attucks High School. She retired from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, having served under four different administrations as a dispatcher. After retiring she became a foster parent and caregiver. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, George Franklin West, daughter, Amelia D. West Rodgers, her husband, Frank West Jr., Sisters, Pearline  Williams, and Hattie Jane Waddell.

She is survived by one son: Anthony West, daughters, Althea Francine West, Alicia (Darrion) Colbert, Anna (Rudolph) Weatherstrand, and Kim (Rev. C.E.) Timberlake.
Sister, Katherine Dixon, eleven grandchildren, Kristie, Earl Jr., Jessica, Darnell, Angela, Anthony, Jamar, Darrion Jr., Francheskia, Felicia, and Brandy, eight great grandchildren,
Mia, Jianna, Franklin, Camelia, Ezekiel, Zaria, Jayla, Kyare, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be at noon, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Freeman Chapel CME Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM till the funeral time.

Adams and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
