A Trigg County farm husband and wife were honored for their dedication to their heritage in agriculture and their dedication to their family and their community during the Trigg County Country Ham Festival Kickoff Breakfast.
Trigg County Agriculture Committee member Becky Marlowe presented the Your Ag Edge Farmer of the Year award to Ricky Ladd, with Stephanie Perry naming Ricky’s wife Laura Ladd the 2024 Farm Mom of the Year during the annual breakfast at the Trigg County Recreation Complex Convention Center.
Marlowe said the Ladd farm has always been a family operation.
Marlowe says working on the farm is a way of life for Ricky Ladd, with his family, and church also a big part of his life.
Meanwhile, Trigg County Ag Committee member Stephanie Perry presented the 2024 Farm Mom of the Year award to Laura Ladd. Perry says Laura and Ricky met in 1988 and were quickly married and became a farm wife, which has a different meaning than many might think.
Perry says Laura quickly became a part of the family and developed a great relationship with Ricky’s sister Donna Ethridge, with the two involved in numerous pranks over the years. Perry says Laura is staple that keeps the home, farm, and family together.

The Ladds were joined by their many of their family members at the breakfast.
