Trigg County’s Family and Consumer Science Agent Teresa Garcia found herself quite busy at the end of 2023, when a candies class brought more than 40 participants and created four separate classes.
She says 2024 is off to a great start, as well, and planned programming is on the horizon.
First up: a money-management class called “Bang For Your Buck,” which will be from 1:30-2:30 PM Wednesday, February 7 at the Johnson Tyler Community Room on Lincoln Avenue.
Next up: a series of baking classes for biscuits, quick breads and yeast breads — set, respectively, from 1-3 PM February 26, March 4 and March 18, in what should cure any case of the Mondays.
The “Big Blue Book Club,” she added, will also be offered up this spring — and will be in congruence with all extension offices across the Commonwealth.
There are currently four homemaker clubs that she called “busy, active” with “fun, amazing ladies, always doing something exciting.”
On March 8, Garcia said they will be traveling together to the Christian County Extension Office, to learn all about Italian cooking.
It’s best if one either registers for these events, or joins the homemakers, and one can do so by calling the TCEO at (270) 522-3269, follow the Trigg County Cooperative Extension Family & Consumer Sciences Facebook page, or email Garcia at teresa.garcia@kysu.edu.
The office is located at 2657 Hopkinsville Road in Cadiz.
