A building at the intersection of East 4th Street and South Clay Street in Hopkinsville was badly damaged in a fire Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says heavy smoke was coming from the old Odds & Ends Discount Store building when they arrived just after 4 am.
Rogers says they entered the building to search for anyone inside due to a vehicle being parked outside but no one was found.
The fire was reported to firefighters by Hopkinsville Police after noticing smoke in the area. The cause of the fire was unknown.
