Over the next few weeks, Trigg County Circuit Court Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall will be reviewing the potential of bond for 29-year-old Landon Stinson, who currently is lodged in Christian County Jail with no bond following an indictment on possession for a controlled substance in the first degree.
During Wednesday’s “Rule Day,” public defender Mary Rohrer asked to waive Stinson’s formal arraignment to enter a “not guilty” plea on his behalf, to which Woodall acquiesced and set the next pre-trial date for Stinson to be November 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Stinson specifically asked Woodall about his bond during Tuesday’s proceedings, and Woodall illuminated.
Stinson’s troubles, however, might stem further in upcoming court dates.
Wanted for questioning and potentially considered a suspect in the July 3 double murder of 76-year-old Sue Faris and 28-year-old Matthew Blakeley at Faris’s home on Cerulean Road, Stinson was arrested days later in California — where Los Angeles County Municipal Court reports state he was being held on charges of carrying a concealed weapon.
Stinson had recently been extradited from California lodging when he was picked up for this new charge.
Trigg County’s grand jury met prior to Wednesday’s rulings, but did not return a formal indictment in the Faris & Blakeley case. Autopsies on the victims concluded both died by gunshot.
