A Hopkinsville man was charged with harboring a vicious animal after his dog reportedly bit a Hopkinsville Police officer Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say a dog owned by 45-year-old Matthew Hibbs was attempting to bite people as they entered McDonald’s on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

When officers arrived the dog reportedly bit an officer’s hand as they were trying to catch the dog.

The officer was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The dog was taken into the custody of animal control and Hibbs was cited to court.

The dog reportedly didn’t have current vaccinations.
