A retirement reception was held Saturday afternoon for well-known veterinarians Dr. Sam and Lynn Cofield.
The event, held at the Trigg County Extension Office, brought hundreds of community members out to thank the Cofields for their hard work and dedication to the region over the last 35 years.
Dr. Sam tells the News Edge even though they officially retired as of October, life will not slow down for them as they have a farm to take care of, among other things.
Dr. Lynn says she will spend her new extra time riding her horse.
She notes working at the clinic has been fun.

Dr. Lynn adds she is proud of all of the employees they have had who have gone on to be veterinarians or other important roles working with animals.
Both thank the community for allowing them to take care of their animals. The Cofields purchased Trigg County Veterinary Clinic in 1984 from a group of Trigg County farmers. Dr. Aaron Graves and Dr. Shaina Wheatly purchased the clinic in February after working there for over two years.
On Friday, 1st-District Representative James Comer honored the Cofields on the House floor in Washington D.C.
Trigg County Veterinary Clinic is located on Roger Thomas Road in Cadiz.
