Despite the cold conditions, officials say about 1,500 people came out to participate in the annual Turkey Trot in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman tells the News Edge they were surprised at the crowd that turned out for the 5K.

He says some of the people who participated in the Turkey Trot were from out-of-state and in town to spend Thanksgiving with family.

This was the 18th annual Turkey Trot in Hopkinsville, which continues to grow each year.
