Ebonite International Purchased By Brunswick

After announcing the closure Friday afternoon of Hopkinsville’s Ebonite International, it has been confirmed the company was sold to Brunswick.

Brunswick says they secured all the assets of EBI, including all of its brands, trademarks, and technologies on Friday.

The Hopkinsville plant shut down abruptly and relieved all 171 employees.

Flo Bowling reports production will move to Brunswick’s plant in Reynosa, Mexico.

Flo Bowling adds before the closure announcement, there were three major bowling ball manufacturers. The only two companies left include Brunswick and Storm Products. EBI’s brands included Columbia 300, Hammer, Ebonite, Track, Power House and Robby’s.

Ebonite International was in business for 109 years, with 52 of them being headquartered in Hopkinsville.
