Area Residents Appointed To State Boards And Commissions

Cadiz City Clerk and Treasurer Brian Ahart, along with residents of Caldwell, Lyon and Marshall counties, are among Governor Matt Bevin’s recent appointments to state boards and commissions.

Ahart, of Gracey, was appointed to the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee. He will represent the Kentucky League of Cities on the committee that advises and makes recommendations regarding strategic wireless initiatives to achieve public safety voice and data communications interoperable. He will serve a term expiring in July 2021.

Billy Ray Coursey, of Eddyville, who is a professional licensed investigator, was appointed as a member of the Water Transportation Advisory Board. He will represent public riverports on the board that advises the executive and legislative branches of government on matters pertaining to water transportation. He will serve a term expiring in September 2022.

Dana M. Baker, of Fredonia, who is a business educator, was appointed to the Kentucky Technical Education Personnel Board. She will represent Area Technology Centers on the board that conducts personnel appeals from certified and equivalent employees in the Office of Career and Technical Education. She will serve a term expiring in June 2023.

And Stephanie Danette Ives, of Benton, who is a teacher, was appointed to the Kentucky Center for School Safety Board of Directors. She will represent the Kentucky Education Association on the board that works to create safe, secure learning environments in the schools across the state. It is the center for data analysis, research, allocation of information about successful school safety programs, research results and new programs. She will serve a term expiring in March 2023.
