Unity Summit

Christian County’s Judge/Executive and city mayors of Crofton, Hopkinsville, Lafayette, Oak Grove, and Pembroke are excited to announce that last fall’s Unity Summit themed “Where Do We Go From Here?” has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 31. The event will be hosted from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Christian County Middle School at 215 Glass Avenue. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
In response to alarming events that have occurred throughout the nation, the summit is designed to be an initial conversation surrounding the concept of systemic racism including police and community relations throughout our county.  Event organizers hope to build on existing area connections that have prevented such tragedies while recognizing we are not immune to these developments.  The summit is an opportunity to keep learning from one another, deepen existing relationships, and build new ones.
While event organizers look forward to positive, productive dialogue, it is understood a single gathering cannot address every issue.  Therefore, the group remains committed to continued opportunities to engage in action items developed during this initial and future conversations.
