A Nashville man was charged with DUI after a report of reckless driving on Interstate 24 in Christian County on Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Larry Day on Skyline Drive after he was seen by other motorists hitting traffic barrels on Interstate 24 and had one barrel still under the vehicle during the stop.
He reportedly would not follow officers’ commands, and officers could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on him.
Police say an open bottle of alcohol was found in the vehicle, and at the hospital, his blood test showed .420 of alcohol content.
He reportedly threatened nurses during his time at the hospital. He was arrested and charged with DUI fourth or more, third-degree terroristic threatening, reckless driving, driving on a DUI suspended license third offense, second-degree criminal mischief, and failure to produce an insurance card.
