A Murray Police officer has been charged with several counts of rape after an investigation on Wednesday.
Kentucky State Police say they were called by the police department about allegations of sexual abuse involving one of their officers.
The officer reportedly met the victim in his official capacity in 2018 when the child was 15 years old, and multiple sexual encounters happened.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy and four counts of third-degree rape after an investigation in Calloway and Trigg Counties.
He reportedly resigned from the police department.
