A fundraiser is planned for Saturday in Pembroke to help support a local family facing months of medical care for their newborn daughter at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
According to organizer Jack Lackey, the benefit will support Tatum Wright, the infant daughter of Sambo Wright and Ada Roehr, who was born about a month ago at Vanderbilt after doctors anticipated possible medical complications.
Lackey said Tatum has remained hospitalized since birth and the family expects to spend at least the next six to seven months in the Nashville area while she continues treatment and care.
He said the family is preparing to move into an apartment near the hospital so they can remain close to Tatum during her recovery.
Lackey described the situation as a major financial burden for the family and said the community has already begun stepping forward to help.
The fundraiser is being sponsored by Pembroke United Methodist Church and will be held Saturday at the church.
