Dorothy Jean Henderson, age 87, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday May 1, 2026, at Christian Health Center of natural causes.
The family has chosen cremation with a Private Family Burial Service to be held at O’Daniel Cemetery and a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Dorothy was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on October 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Howard Cecil Moman and Nina Hurt Moman. She loved spending time with her family and her many grandchildren. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, farming, westerns, painting, and her many animals over the years, most recently little bit. Dorothy loved talking on the phone to her many wonderful friends. She retired as a seamstress from Flynn Enterprises and loved farming. She was a member of West Union Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Otho Lee Henderson; her daughters, Patricia Henderson and Samantha Henderson Fooshee; her brothers, Cletus Moman and Coleman Moman; and her sisters, Gracie Moman and Judy Stokes.
Survivors include her sons, Elzie Howard (Lisa) Henderson of Hopkinsville, Jim Henderson of Hopkinsville; her four grandchildren, Howard (Christy) Henderson, Joshua (Shelly) Henderson, Lori Beth (Nick) Hester, Brad Fooshee; her nine great grandchildren, Madison, Alyvia, Harleigh, Owen, Gavin, Dixon, Zander, Jacob James, and McKenna; her one great great granddaughter, Everleigh Comperry; and her several nieces and nephews.
