Kenneth Dwayne Skinner, age 62, of Cadiz, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Born in Cadiz on October 3, 1963, Kenny was the son of the late Ricks Skinner, Jr. and Jewell (Cheatham) Skinner, and a cherished sibling to a large, loving family.
A beloved resident of Wendell Foster in Owensboro and a longtime member of Pugh Flat Baptist Church in Trigg County, Kenny embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm evident to all who knew him.
Kenny had a passion for John Deere tractors, marveling at their strength and vibrant green color, and a keen interest in law enforcement, often captivated by cop shows on television and by the presence of police officers in real life. He also enjoyed watching “The Dukes of Hazzard”, a show that brought him joy and laughter.
Fishing was one of Kenny’s favorite pastimes, and he held a firm belief that the secret to a successful catch required the ritual of spitting on his hook.
His gentle nature and warm heart touched everyone he encountered.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bobby Skinner and Gaylon Skinner, and his sister Sylvia Calhoun.
He is survived by his brothers, Tim Skinner (Nancy) of Tampa, FL, and Johnny Skinner (Donna) of Cadiz, and his sisters, Linda Choate, Brenda Taylor, and Donna Allen (Terry), all of Cadiz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2026, with Bro. Cody Choate officiating. Burial will follow in New Skinner Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
