A man was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges after authorities say he attacked his ex-girlfriend, who is pregnant.
Madisonville Police say 27-year-old Lamontae Bass of Crofton drove to his ex-girlfriend’s home Friday night, despite not having a valid driver’s license. According to police, Bass struck the woman multiple times in the face, causing severe swelling and possible fractures. Officers also indicated the victim is 26 weeks pregnant.
Bass is also accused of strangling the victim until she lost consciousness. Police say when the woman attempted to retreat into her home for safety, Bass forced his way inside and continued the assault.
Bass was taken into custody and charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree strangulation, first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault, and no operator’s license. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
