Residents in Oak Grove will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused and expired medications during the upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.
The event is being organized by the Oak Grove Police Department in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community members can drop off medications at two designated locations: Walmart and the Oak Grove City Hall.
Officials say the initiative is intended to reduce the risk of prescription drug misuse and ensure that medications are disposed of in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. The event is part of a nationwide effort to provide communities with a convenient and secure way to discard potentially harmful substances.
No appointment is required, and the service is free to the public.
