Shortly everyone who drives 7th Street in Hopkinsville will see new signs naming the bridge over Little River for a long time public servant. Tuesday night, the Hopkinsville City Council approved a resolution officially naming the bridge, read by former Judge Executive Steve Tribble's long-time friend Judge John Atkins.
Atkins says it is his honor to read the official order, which recognizes Tribble's 30 years of service and his roots in West Side.
Tribble was joined by his daughter Leigh Durden and many friends.
He fondly recalled growning up in the neighborhood.
Atkins says there will be a second ceremony.
During public comments, City Councilman Clayton Sumner got up and thanked his fellow council members for voting yes on the resolution.
He didn't stop there.
A date for the dedication has not been set.
