Property Valuation Administrator Candidates Discuss Experience-Fair Assessments

Christian County Property Valuation Administrator candidates Tabitha Strader and Amber Ezell discussed their qualifications and the need for fair property assessments during the final night of the League of Women Voters of Hopkinsville Primary Election Forums.

Both Ezell and Strader discussed thier experience in the Christian County Property Valuation Administrators office and how they plan to use that experience to serve the county. When asked about experience to hold the office of PVA Amber Ezell cited her career working in the office.

Strader said she also brings several years of experience working under current PVA Angie Strader and serving in other roles involving property valuation and the local justice system.

When asked how they would ensure properties are evaluated fairly without any political pressure, Strader said there is a process in place to ensure fairness and equity.

Ezell said she would work to assess all property fairly based on what is required by law.

Both Strader and Ezell said they would be in favor of moving the PVA office closer to the Christian County Clerk’s office during the courthouse renovation to ensure their public has better access and the offices can work together easier.

The forum can be viewed on the League of Women Voters of Hopkinsville Facebook page.
