Christian County Public Schools has named Sara Johnson as its new Director of Elementary Instruction, effective July 1.
Johnson currently serves as principal of Indian Hills Elementary and brings nearly two decades of experience within the district. She began her career as a teacher at Sinking Fork Elementary, later serving as assistant principal at Millbrooke Elementary before becoming principal at Indian Hills in 2021.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel says Johnson’s leadership, commitment to student success, and experience across multiple roles make her well-suited for the position.
Johnson says she is honored to take on the new role and looks forward to supporting students, staff, and families across all elementary schools in the district.
She is a graduate of Murray State University and Western Kentucky University and was recently named a 2026 inductee into the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership network.
