The 59th annual Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction continued its record-breaking pace during Tuesday night’s broadcast on WKDZ-FM.

The event featured the sale of more than 120 live-auction items, with all proceeds designated for local student scholarships and senior citizen programs.

Rotarian Beth Mann announced at the conclusion of the program that the live auction raised $16,730, while the HandBid auction website and the Country Store brought in $774 and $562.50, respectively.

The Century Club closed out the night at a total of over $145,000.

Rotarian Alana Baker Dunn noted that this year’s success has been bolstered by a surge in participation from new community members.

On Wednesday night, Mann said the auction will focus efforts on funding a $100,000 match for the Trigg County Veterans Memorial.

Mann added that the memorial will also honor those who lived in Trigg County and served in all conflicts.

The memorial is located on property donated by Craig and Stephanie Perry, which rests at the intersection of U.S. 68/Kentucky 80 and Kentucky 272 in western Trigg County.

For dinner, The Way Christian Youth Center will be serving lasagna, salad, and bread beginning at 5:00 PM.

A full list of items up for auction on Wednesday night can be found here.

Auction coverage begins at 6:00 PM on 106.5 WKDZ-FM and the WKDZ webstream.
