The Janice Mason Art Museum will once again spotlight student creativity this spring with the return of the Trigg County Schools Student Art Show, featuring artwork from local students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Museum officials announced the annual exhibition will be presented in two parts. The Trigg County Elementary School show will run from Thursday, April 9, through Tuesday, April 21, with a public reception set for Friday, April 10, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Trigg County Middle and High School show will follow from Thursday, April 23, through Sunday, May 10, with its reception scheduled for Friday, April 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. Both exhibits will be held at the Janice Mason Art Museum, located at 71 Main Street in downtown Cadiz.
The student art showcase has become a familiar spring tradition at the museum and has regularly highlighted the work of Trigg County students in recent years. In 2024, the Trigg County Elementary School Art Show featured more than 500 pieces created by students from kindergarten through fifth grade, with the exhibit transitioning later in the spring to make way for a separate middle and high school show.
The museum has also hosted a combined multi-week display of Trigg County student artwork. The student exhibitions fit with the Janice Mason Art Museum’s broader mission as a community arts center serving Cadiz and Trigg County.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m. Both receptions are open to the public.
